Why convert PNG and JPG to WebP?

WebP was made by Google for the web. At the same visual quality, a WebP file is usually noticeably smaller than the JPG or PNG it came from, and it supports transparency like PNG does. Smaller images mean faster pages, less mobile data and better scores in Google's PageSpeed Insights.

Every current browser shows WebP, and WordPress, Shopify, Wix and most other site builders accept it. That makes it a safe default for website images.

How to convert images to WebP

  1. Add images. PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG and iPhone HEIC files all work, mixed in one batch.
  2. Set quality. 80% is a good starting point for photos. Use 90% or higher for graphics with text.

How do I convert PNG to WebP?
